Red Lion--Richard N. Snyder, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Wellspan-York Hospital holding the hand of his wife. He was the husband of Mary R. (Miller) Snyder with whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage on June 16, 2023.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM, Monday, October 16, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Steven Schmuck. Viewings will be held from 7:00 – 9:00PM, Sunday and from 12:30 – 1:30PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
Born February 19, 1933 in Red Lion, he was the son of the late Norman and Anna (Keller) Snyder.
Throughout his career, Mr. Snyder worked several different jobs, including business owner of Red Lion Tree Service, he was also employed for many years as a truck driver with Miller Motor Freight. However, his passion was operating his concrete business in the Red Lion Area.
A long-time member of Bethany United Methodist Church, he most recently attended Red Lion Bible Church. Following his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and was an avid antique car enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Snyder is also survived by two daughters, JoAnne R. Lewis and her husband, Gary of Red Lion and Linda M. Hogue and her husband, Kenneth of York; four grandchildren, Marci Holloway and her husband, Phil, Kendra Everhart and her husband, Seth, Travis Hogue and his wife, Kandy and Jason Lewis and his wife, Lizz; nine great grandchildren and one nephew, Jeff Snyder. He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Snyder.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Rd., Red Lion, Pa 17356.
