MILL HALL - Richard L. Munro, 77, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1937 in Lock Haven a son of the late Clair and Thelma (Rogers) Munro. Richard was married to the former Helen M. Bowman on May 22, 1954. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together. He worked for Piper Aircraft and retired from Hammermill Paper Co. in 1987. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1954 - 1958 and was stationed on board the USS Hank 702 Destroyer. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved bingo. Surviving are his loving wife; two sons Richard L. Munro, Jr. of Mill Hall and James L. Munro of Lamar and a daughter Julie A. (Thomas) Heineman of Beech Creek. 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. One brother Edwin “Ted” Munro of Waynesboro, VA. He was preceded in death by two daughters Deborah K. Orndorf and Robin M. Ardner also two brothers Clair G. Munro and Robert Munro. The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701 or the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.
