Richard K. Lewis, Sr.

GLEN ROCK- Richard K. Lewis, Sr., 82, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of the late Bertha E. (McGowan) Lewis. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born August 16, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, Richard was a son of the late Edward Eugene Sr. and Ella Mary (Pace) Lewis. He worked as a machine operator until his retirement. Richard enjoyed woodworking and flower gardening. Mr. Lewis is survived by a son, Richard K. Lewis, Jr. and his wife Christina of Mt. Wolf; a daughter, Deborah J. Noel and her husband Joe of East Berlin; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Lewis and his wife Doris of Bel Air, MD; five sisters, Miriam Glaser and her husband John of York, Dorothy Cassel and her husband Jack of KY, Norma Mace, Joan Parks of MD, and Nancy Miller of MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by nine siblings.
