Richard "Jim" Knight

DALLASTOWN- Richard J. “Jim” Knight, 82, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Lehr) Knight. The couple planned to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 21. Services for Mr. Knight are private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on February 12, 1940 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Richard and Loraine (Schatzer) Knight. Richard was a 1958 graduate of Central York High School. He was a supervisor at Teledyne-McKay Co. and retired from Esab in 2008. Richard also worked at Charleston Service Station in his younger years. Mr. Knight was a member of Hayshire U.C.C. He loved playing and watching golf, watching old westerns and was a Hershey Bears season ticket holder for over 40 years. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family especially his wife, children and grandchildren. Along with his wife, Barbara, Richard is survived by his daughter, Jamie Minnich of Hanover; grandson, Tanner Bogaczyk and his wife, Ayla of New Cumberland; brother, Michael Knight of Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Jackie Lehr; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Bogaczyk; son in law, Tim Minnich; grandson, Logan T. Minnich; two brothers, Colin Knight and Barry Knight; and sister, Shirley Fissel.
