Richard Hoiden Richard Hoiden, 81, resident of Pinebrook Personal Care, Orwigsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning at the Pottsville Hospital. Born in Philadelphia on August 10, 1925, Richard was the son of the late Frank and Anna Ostrosine Hoiden. He moved to Bensalem, PA in 1972. Richard was a Navy veteran having served during World War II as a machinist's mate, MM2 and again in Korea as an MML2. From 1964 until 2004 Richard worked for General Doors Corporation. Richard was a member of the Neshaminy Valley Baptist Church, Bensalem which he helped build. He was president of the Philadelphia Rose Society for 2 years and he loved woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Bickley Widel, who died October 2004. Richard is survived by his sister, Dorothea "Jerre" Cubler and her husband Dr. Edward Cubler, of Schuylkill Haven, PA; two step-children, Mary Ann Widel, Miami, FL and George Ross Widel, Simi Valley, CA; his nieces, Dolly Sitkus, wife of Steve, of Pottsville, PA, Bonnie Jullian, wife of Joseph, of Orwigsburg, and Amy Goodman, wife of David, of Doylestown, PA; his Great Nephew, Andrew. Graveside services will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, Trevose, PA. The Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
