MILTON - Richard H. “Dick” Fry, 79, of Rolling Ridge Drive, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Richard was born on December 15, 1932 in Milton and was the son of the late Harry and Kathryn (McFarland) Fry. He was married to the late Mary Elizabeth (Roche) for 37 years before her death in 1990. Richard was a 1952 graduate of Milton High School. While he was in high school, he played three sports, which included baseball, basketball and football. He later went to Williamsport Tech for welding. He had served in the US Army as a Corporal and served in Korea between 1953-1954. He had retired in January 1992 after 40 years of service with ACF in Milton where he was a welder technician. After retirement, he played golf and followed Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Milton where he had also served as an usher. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 71, the Elks and a life member of the VFW. Richard is survived by his companion; Donna Misavage of Milton, one brother; Charles Fry of Milton, one sister; DeLana Fritchman of Milton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Harry J., Donald and Thomas and three sisters; Eleanor Jean, Anna Catherine and Ethel Jeanette. Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 47 Walnut St., Milton, PA 17847 where the funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Stephen G. Shirk officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery with military honors. Memorials in Richard’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the SPCA, 2801 Bloom Rd., Danville, PA 17821. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847.
