Richard E. Senft

YORK - Richard E. Senft, 85, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Hedrick) Senft. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on February 26, 2014. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery. Mr. Senft was born in York on April 12, 1929, the son of the late James H. and Margaret E. (Tangert) Senft. After serving in the Navy, Richard worked in Alaska, then for the former H.J. Williams Company for over 30 years. He then retired as a superintendent for Kinsley Construction in York. Mr. Senft was a member of Prince Athletic Association in York. He was a US Navy veteran who served during WWII. Along with his wife, Mr. Senft leaves a son, Michael R. Senft and his wife Kathy of York; a daughter, Kathy A. Keeports and her husband Rodney of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Christina Shearer and her husband, Cody and Steven Senft; and a brother, Robert J. Senft and his wife Sharon of York.
