Richard E. Barley

YORK- Richard E. Barley, 75, died on Saturday, May 07, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Suzanne (Sterner) Barley. Masonic rights will be provided at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York by Red Lion Lodge #649 followed by a celebration of life tribute service with the Reverend David Tietje officiating. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Born on June 8, 1940 in Red Lion, he was a son of the late Nevin Barley. Richard was the former principal at York City School District. Mr. Barley was a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge #649 in Red Lion. Richard loved fishing, farming, playing bridge and vacationing. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Barley is survived by one daughter, Ann McMaster and her husband, Timothy of York; three grandchildren, Malcolm, Collin and Terry; two great grandchildren, Rylee and Savannah; two brothers, Kevin Barley and his wife, Patty of Spring Grove and Terry Barley and his wife, Julie of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Patsy Moyer of Red Lion; and his companion, Mary Rodgers of York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Lion Masonic Lodge #649, 23 West High Street, Red Lion, PA 17356.
