DOVER- Richard B. Rubritz, 88, died on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Kristofco) Rubritz, to whom he was married for 63 years. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York with his pastor, Father Daniel Richards officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10. a.m. on Friday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Burial will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born on January 29, 1930 in Johnstown, he was a son of the late George and Arzella (Costlow) Rubritz. Richard was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Rubritz served our country for four years as a paratrooper in the United States Army and for four years in the United States Air Force. Along with his wife, Dorothy, Richard is survived by his son, Bernard Rubritz and wife Carol (Golias) of York; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Sheaffer, Jonathan Rubritz and wife, Chelsea (Hines) of Easton, Melissa Border and husband, Zach of York and Monica Alexander and husband, Bradley of Dover, DE; one great grandson, Owen Border; and cousin, Sister Anthony (Genevieve) Costlow CSJ of Baden. Richard was preceded in death by siblings Thomas, Eugenia Lewis, Mary Rita Daley, Jacob (Moe), Franklin(Fuzzy). Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W.
