Richard A. Wigfield

DOVER- Richard A. “Dick” Wigfield, 81 of Dover Township, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at ProMedica, York North. He was the husband of Sharon A. (LeBaron) Wigfield. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on August 10, 2021. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main Street in Dover, with a visitation from 10:30-11 a.m. The church will be requiring attendees to wear a mask. Pastor Abby Leese will be officiating at the service. Mr. Wigfield was born in Roaring Springs on May 13, 1940, the son of the late Austin Dodson and Viola (Wigfield) Miller. He retired from Harley Davidson in York. Mr. Wigfield enjoyed raising show rabbits and was a member of American Rabbit Breeders Association. He later raised show chickens. Mr. Wigfield leaves two sons, Terry Wigfield of Thomasville and Richard A. Wigfield, Jr. of Dover; four daughters, Sherry Wigfield of Florida, Susette Jones of York, Lisa Harrington and her husband Ben of Dover, and Vickie Ripley and her husband Doug of York; three stepchildren, Kimberly Shaw, Sean Maher, and Brian Maher; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, Dean Wigfield and his wife Cinda of Everett, PA Memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17406.
