Richard A. Shoff, Sr.

WINDSOR-Richard A. Shoff, Sr. 75, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Shirley N. (Hershner) Shoff to whom he was married 55 years on August 14th. A celebration of life service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., Red Lion, with Chaplain Ellen E. Good officiating. A viewing will be held from 2-3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Mr. Shoff was born May 15, 1934 in Red Lion, a son of the late Leroy and Helen (Seaks) Shoff. He was a former employee of JD Eckman, Inc. for over 10 years until his retirement. He was a 1952 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School. Mr. Shoff enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carpentry work. He was fond of traveling to Bethany Beach with his family and taking care of his two shelties over the years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving his country during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Shirley, Mr. Shoff is survived by three sons, Mark A. Shoff and wife, Sue of Morris Run, Pa, Todd V. Shoff and wife, Kim of Brogue, and Richard A. Shoff, Jr. and wife, Shannon of Red Lion; two daughters, Melody E. Hess and husband, Bruce of Stewartstown, and Jill N. Dellinger and husband, Ronald of Windsor; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Shoff; and many nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Clair Shoff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Services, 218 E. Market St., York, PA, 17403.
