Richard A. Fahs

SEVEN VALLEYS – Richard A. Fahs, 78, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jean E. (Crawford) Fahs to whom he was married for 57 years on April 16, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 PM Monday, July 9, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A private service and burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Born July 22, 1933 in York a son of the late Paul and Pauline (Roderick) Fahs, he was a 1951 graduate of West York High School. Mr. Fahs retired from Henry H. Lewis Contractors in Owings Mills and prior to that has worked at Nooco Contractors, Inc. He enjoyed working with honey bees and was a member of York County Beekeepers’ Assoc. In addition to his wife Jean, Mr. Fahs is survived by a son, Michael A. and wife Roxann Fahs of York; two daughters, Lori A. and husband Bill Hoff of Codorus and Teri L. Holtzinger of York; four grandchildren; one step granddaughter; five great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter J. Fahs.
