Rex E. Woolridge

Dover—Rex E. Woolridge, 72, passed away, Friday, April 16, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sonja P. (Fox) Woolridge, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage. A funeral tribute service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with his pastor, the Rev. John Harmon, officiating. A viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born June 27, 1937 in York, he was a son of Margaret (Grumbine) Woolridge of York and the late Cecil Woolridge. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1955 and was employed with York International as a training manager for their technical institute. A member of Friendship Community Church in Dover, he was also a member of AARP and past president of Weiglestown Lions Club and the Refrigeration Engineers Service Society. For 6 years he served as Sgt. 1st Class in the Army National Guard, but above all else he was a true and dedicated family man. Mr. Woolridge is also survived by two sons, Mark and Michael Woolridge and his companion, Shawna Ruth, all of Dover, five grandchildren, Devin, Kevin and his fianc窠Samantha, Christopher, Kendra and Tiffany, one great granddaughter, Brooke, one brother, Barry D. Woolridge of York, one sister, Lorraine K. Smith and her husband, Troy of Manchester and several nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of PA, 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, Pa 17011.
