YORK- Reverend Leslie D. Nutter, 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2012. He was the husband of Frances M. (Wyant) Nutter. Mr. Nutter was born January 14, 1941 in White Sulphur Springs, WV. He was the son of the late Pastor L. E. and Mary Nutter. Following graduation from West Virginia University in 1963, Mr. Nutter entered the public accounting profession. In 1969 he entered Grace Theological Seminary earning his M. Div. Degree. While there he pastored Skinner Chapel in Twelve Mile, IN. He then pastored the Susquehanna GBC in Wrightsville for 24 years. He served in a number leadership positions within the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. His involvement within the FGBC included camp ministry, church planting, youth ministries, and conference moderator. He was involved with the York Bible Training Institute. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Grace College and Theological Seminary for six years. He was also a substitute teacher/bus driver in York County. Prior to his passing, he was involved in York Grace Brethren Church as an elder, Bible teacher, small group leader, and served on numerous committees. He enjoyed his family, reading and he had a great sense of humor. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he will be lovingly missed by his children, daughter, Lynette Hoover and husband Gary, of Red Lion, and son, Scott and wife Jennifer of Fishers, IN, and his four grandchildren, Hanna and Madelyn Hoover and Jeremy and Emily Nutter. He leaves a brother, Newman Nutter of Poca, WV; and a sister, Glee Nutter of White Sulphur Springs, WV. His twin brother, Lambuth, and his sister, Sandra, preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the York Grace Brethren Church, 661 N. Newberry Street in York (across from Kiwanis Lake). The Rev. Kenneth Cosgrove and The Rev. Daniel White will officiate. Private interment will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the church from 9:30-11 a.m. before the memorial service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York Grace Brethren Church, 661 N. Newberry Street, York, PA 17404.
