RED LION-The Rev. Bonnie Louise (Hall) Seitz departed this life at 7 p.m. Monday. June 28th. She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Joseph W. Seitz. A celebration of life funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles Street, Red Lion, PA, 17356 with her pastor the Rev. Anne-Rose Reeves and her former pastor the Rev. John Fehringer officiating. Viewings will be held 6-9:00 p.m. Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and 9-10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Church. Burial will take place in St. Paul's (Lebanon) Lutheran Cemetery, Felton, PA. Bonnie was born February 6, 1931 in Dansville, NY a daughter of Daniel Ray Acomb Hall and Louise Charlotte Victoria (Schudoma) Hall. She was a graduate of Dansville High School; Cornell University with a B.A. in Home Economics; and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg with an M.A. in Religious Education and an M. Div. in Theological Education. She was ordained in 1979 and served numerous interim ministries in York and Adams Counties. For ten years she was pastor of Jerusalem Messiah Parish near New Freedom. She was also Chaplin at Shrewsberry Lutheran Retirement Village. She served as chairperson of the synod's World Hunger Task Force and on the synodical parish education committee. Locally she was a board member of Red Lion Area Community Services and was a member of Red Lion AARP and York County Retired Lutheran Pastors. She had taught Home Economics in York Springs, Spring Grove and Red Lion. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Stephen D. Seitz and wife, Sandra Eisenhart-Seitz of Felton; daughters Ann E. Seitz- Brown and husband, Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown of Spring Grove; and Mary S. Mamet of Hanover; eight grandchildren C.J., Mary Beth, Jeremy, Lauren and husband Ryan, Hunter, Hannah, Abigail and Krista; a great granddaughter Pyper; a brother William Hall; a sister, Dr. Ann Myers and a sister-in-law Ruth Hall; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Sorrell and Phyllis Hall; and two brothers, Dr. Daniel Hall, and Harold Hall. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, with gifts to World Hunger or the Seminary Scholarship in her name.
