Rena M. (Phillips) Hughes

YORK HAVEN – Rena M. (Phillips) Hughes, 79, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late Carl Hughes. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 at Parkville Church of the Living God, 1733 York Rd., Dover, with her pastor, The Rev. David Haring officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Parkville Cemetery. Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born May 17, 1934 in York a daughter of the late Theodore and Virgie (Tanner) Phillips, she had worked at Arby’s in Camp Hill. Rena enjoyed going out to eat at 83 Diner with Blanche and Old Country Buffet with Pauline, spending time with her family, going to Church, and watching TV. Mrs. Hughes is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. and husband Charles Nelson of Carlisle and Cindy L. and the late Fred Anderson of York Haven; a son, Carl E. and wife Kathy Hughes of York Haven; four grandchildren, Tonja, Nikki, Troy, and Jason; four great grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Brody, and Kaleb; and two great great grandchildren, Jade and Erik; and a sister Jane Pike of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy M. Fink; a grandson, Nathan Nelson; and two sisters, Millie Tyson and Gloria Libby Trible.
