Reed L. The Sugar Cake Man" Sheeley

York—Reed L. "the Sugar Cake Man" Sheeley, 83, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Deloris M. (Smith) Sheeley. A family funeral service and burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will be private. The Rev. Richard Starr will be officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born December 24, 1926 in York, he was a son of late Roy A. and Nellie E. (Thompson) Sheeley. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Shiloh American Legion, W. York V.F.W and the Viking Athletic Association. He was employed as a Photo Engraver for over 20 years with York Engraving. Mr. Sheeley is survived by one son, Ronald Reed Sheeley and wife, Karen of York, a daughter, Donna Rae Sheeley and companion, Walter Boyd of York, two grandchildren, Stephanie N. Sheeley and Carly A. Rickell and husband Jon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mae E. Martin and one brother, William Sheeley.
