Raymond S. Hoffman

LEWISBERRY - Raymond S. Hoffman, 72, passed away Thursday, October 30. 2014 at Manor Care Health Services North in York. He was the husband of Carol M. (Krebs) Hoffman. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on September 2, 2014. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Tri County Memorial Gardens. Born January 14, 1942 in Harrisburg, Raymond was a son of the late Raymond S. and Thelma J. (Gosnell) Hoffman. He worked as a machine operator for 30 years for Quaker Oats Company until his retirement in January of 1997. The three greatest loves of Raymond’s life were his grandchildren, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at their vacation home on the Eastern Shore in Virginia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoffman is survived by two daughters, Donna Knapp and her husband John of Manheim and Diane Johnson and her husband Kipp of Dover; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Charles “Jake” Hoffman and his wife Pat of Townsend, Delaware; a sister, Elizabeth Eichelberger and her husband Larry of New Cumberland;two sisters-in-law Wendy Hoffman of Carlisle and Ellen Hammocher and her husband Barry of New Freedom; two nephews and three nieces. Along with his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert.
