Raymond R. Le Rendu

YORK- Raymond R. Le Rendu, 87, of West Manchester Township, formerly of Baltimore, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his residence. He was the husband of Joan A. (Schaeffer) Le Rendu. The couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on March 21, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Victor Holler will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military honors provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Le Rendu was born in Oella, Baltimore County, MD on June 21, 1931, the son of the late Leslie and Viola Le Rendu. He retired as Chief of Police from both, Baltimore County Police Department and York Township Police Department. Mr. Le Rendu received his Bachelors in Science degree from Villanova. He was a philanthropist and active supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, and many other charities. He served in the US Marine Corps. During the Korean War. Along with his wife, Mr. Le Rendu leaves a son, Raymond Le Rendu, Jr. of York; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Meyers of Delaware and Myra Dawn Holler and her husband Vic of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Sandy, Matthew, and Ricky; and six great grandchildren, Autumn, Austin, Amber, Layken, Brandon, and Brooklyn.
