YORK- Raymond Leroy Kindig, 89, of West Manchester Township, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Ethel Marie (Ebersole) Kindig. Mr. Kindig was born in York on February 28, 1927, the son of the late Stuart and Pearl E. (Furst) Kindig. He retired in 1989 after 37 years of service from Voith Hydro in York where he was a Quality Analyst. Mr. Kindig leaves two sons, Byron L. Kindig and his wife Sharon of Levittown and Craig A. Kindig and his wife Linette of Dover; four grandchildren, Rachelle Davis and her husband Brian, Brett Kindig and his wife Michele, Tara Kindig, and Neal Kindig; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Jenna Davis; and a sister, Patricia Ressler of Red Lion. Mr. Kindig was a member of Chapel United Methodist Church. He was formerly a member of the Dutch Club and Victory Athletic Association. He was an avid golfer and bowler in several leagues. He served in the US Army. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Chapel United Methodist Church, 3050 Cape Horn Rd. in Red Lion, with a viewing from noon-1p.m. Pastor Brendan Hoch and Pastor Brett Kindig, his grandson, will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements.
