Raymond H. Saylor

YORK- Raymond H. Saylor, 82, died on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Ness) Saylor to whom he was married for 62 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Cross Roads United Methodist Cemetery. Born on January 24, 1936 in Red Lion, he was a son of the late Ralph and Ella (Rineholt) Saylor. Raymond worked at Cole Steel and retired as a welder from Harley Davidson. Mr. Saylor was a member of the Lancaster County Fruit Growers. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his wife, Mary Ann, Raymond is survived by his son, Robert E. Saylor and wife, Eileen of York; daughter, Wanda J. Gemmill and husband, Ellsworth Jr. of Allentown; three grandchildren, Jessica Vaught and husband, Jaime, Kristina Schiffgens and husband, Nick and Kevin Saylor and fiancé, Casey Keller; three great grandchildren, Trey Vaught, Grace Schiffgens and Julianna Schiffgens; three brothers, Ralph Saylor and wife, Betty of Red Lion, Robert Saylor and wife, Gloria of Cross Roads and Tom Saylor of Robertsdale; and three sisters, Sally Hamberger of Red Lion, Pauline Senft of Windsor and Nancy Smith and husband, Mick of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie Saylor, Terry “Jake” Saylor and David Saylor.
