Raymond Degennaro

YORK- Raymond Degennaro, 86, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Winifred E. (Sandvoss) Degennaro. The couple planned to celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary on June 16. Services for Mr. Degennaro are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on July 1, 1930 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Ralph and Frances (Goriup) Degennaro. Raymond was a mechanical engineer for the VOA in Washington, D.C. until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Degennaro served our country in the U.S. Navy for five years. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting books and was active with the Boy Scouts. Along with his wife, Winifred, Raymond is survived by two sons, Raymond Degennaro and his wife, Tosca of Belvidere, Il and Ralph Degennaro of Boston, MA; one daughter, Kathleen Degennaro of Bryan, TX; and two grandchildren, Isabeau and Gianna.
