ELIZABETHTOWN-Raymond C. Keener, 88, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA. He was the loving husband of the late Catharine A. (Keener) Keener. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Salem United Church of Christ, Jacobus, with his pastor, the Rev. Fred A. Walthour officiating. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Keener was born March 10, 1921 in York, a son of the late Amos P. and Araminda J. (Jackson) Keener. He was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School and was a former employee of Amp, Inc for 21 years until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Keener was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving his country during WWII. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. Mr. Keener was also a member of Masonic Lodge #649, Tall Cedars in Lebanon, Harrisburg Consistory, and a life member of York Fire Company. He was an avid woodworker and bowler, and was a Senior Olympics medal winner. Mr. Keener's dedication to his wife and family will never be forgotten by those who loved him. Mr. Keener is survived by a daughter, Yvonne E. Keener and husband, Richard L. Luedecking of Kalamazoo, MI; two sons, Larry E. Keener and wife, Linda J. of York, and Thomas G. Keener and wife, Barbara S. of Springfield Twp.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
