Renovo - Raymond C. Bratton, age 91, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born in Geneva, New York on August 26, 1916, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Wagner) Bratton. Ray was a graduate of Renovo High School and worked for North American Refractories Co. as a senior research project engineer in Lock Haven and Curwensville, retiring after 35 years service. He was Methodist by faith, served as the secretary of the Eagles Club for 25 years, and was a former member of the Western Clinton Co. Sportsman's Assoc. for many years. He served as a basketball referee for high school and independent league games in the area, was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter, and fisherman, and enjoyed watching all types of sporting events on T.V. On June 6, 1936 Ray married Elizabeth Kostelnik, who survives in Renovo. Also surviving are two sons: Raymond J. (Arlene) Bratton of Renovo, and Gary L. (Carol) Bratton of Warren, Ohio, daughter: Barbara (George A. ) Mills of Renovo, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside funeral services were held at St. Joseph Cemetery chapel on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. with Fr. Donald E. Boslett officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo was in charge of the arrangements.
