Raymond B. Turner

YORK – Raymond B. Turner, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Margaret F. (Stroop) Turner to whom he was married for 63 years. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Suburban Memorial Gardens with his pastors, The Rev. Vince Wood and The Rev. Darryl MacPherson officiating. Full military honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 28, 1926 in New Market, VA; a son of the late Wade M. and Laura (Strickler) Turner, he retired from Mason Dixon Trucking Co. after 32 years of service. During his truck driving career, Mr. Turner earned numerous Safe Driving and Million Mile Awards. He was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Smith Creek Baptist Church in New Market and a former member of Shiloh American Legion. Ray “Lee” also enjoyed hunting. He was a proud US Navy veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Turner is survived by a son, Tony L. and wife Pamelia Turner of Dover; two daughters, Lana F. and husband Randy Miller of Dillsburg and Diana S. and husband Robert Dengler of New Oxford; seven grandchildren, Bobby and wife Heather Dengler, Star and husband Brett Ernst, Jennifer and husband Bob Romito, Jessica and husband Dan Lerew, Rachael and husband Christopher Johanson, Shane and wife Stacy Turner and Cody Turner; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Wooten of Virginia.
