Ray W. Bolich, Jr.

POTTSVILLE - Ray W. Bolich, Jr., 73, of Pottsville, died Sunday morning at his home. Born in Drehersville on February 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Ray and Mildred Corby Bolich. He was a 1956 graduate of Pottsville High School. On September 28, 1957, he married the former MaryJane E. Starr, who survives. Ray was a veteran, serving in the US Air Force, as part of the Strategic Air Command. He was a member of the Church of Saint Patrick and a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving Ray, in addition to his wife MaryJane of 53 years are: four sons, Ray W. Bolich III and his wife Mary, Pottsville, David G. Bolich and his wife Cheryl, Port Carbon, Edward A. Bolich and his wife Lauren Stahl, Minersville and Michael R. Bolich and his wife Karen, Schuylkill Haven; seven grandchildren, David, Christian, Laura, Faith, Abigail, Allison and Emma; a sister, Fay Ann Young, Reading; and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM from the Church of Saint Patrick, 4th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. The Reverend Jason Stokes will officiate. Family and friends may call Wednesday night from 6 – 8 from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, and Thursday morning from 8:45 – 9:45 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Memorial contributions can be made in Ray’s name to the Knights of Columbus, 106 N. 6th St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
