YORK- Randolph Howard Knarr, 91 died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Eunice Mae (Greathouse) Knarr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by York County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Mr. Knarr was born in York on October 23, 1921, the son of the late Malcolm R. and Ethel J. (Weber) Knarr. He retired in 1985 from York Casket Company. He served in the US Air Force where he retired after 26 ½ years of service. Mr. Knarr was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, where he was a Deacon and an Elder. He was a member of the former York Moose Lodge#148, was a member of Red Lion American Legion, post 543, and was a life member of West York VFW post 8951. Mr. Knarr leaves two sons, Malcolm R. Knarr and his wife Dorothy of York and George W. D. Knarr and his wife Cindy of Hereford, TX; a daughter, Mary K. Hipolito and her husband Bernardo of Sylmar, CA; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, The Reverend George R. Knarr and his wife Dorcas of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, 225 N. Hartley Street, York, PA 17404.
