POTTS GROVE - Randall A. "Randy" Zechman, 77, formerly of Philadelphia, died on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Millville Health Center, Millville. He was born on October 11, 1929 in Potts Grove, a son of the late Cloyd R. and Grace (Benfer) Zechman. Randall graduated from Milton Area High School in 1947, attended the Susquehanna University and graduated from Pierce College in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany as a chaplain's assistant and had the privilege of studying opera during that time. He was self employed as a CPA with Stanger & Zechman Accounting Firm in Philadelphia and retired in 1997. He was also the co-owner of the former Zechman Flour Mill in Potts Grove. He had a passion for music. He was the treasurer, organist and choir director for the Church of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia and was choir director and organist for the Old Zion Lutheran Church on Broad Street in Philadelphia. He sang with the Philadelphia Oratorical Choir. Randall was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Potts Grove. Randall is survived by one brother; Benfer E. Zechman of Milton, one nephew; Paul Zechman of Butler, two nieces; Nancy Schreyer of Little Falls, NJ and Annette Mellman of Milton, 6 grand nieces and nephews and 13 great grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Potts Grove. The Reverend Barbara J. Collins will officiate the service. There will be a visitation of friends and family from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Randall's memory may be made to; St. John's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 72, Potts Grove, PA 17865. Arrangements are by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton.
