Ralph N. Murphy

TROUT RUN, PA - Ralph N. Murphy, 90, died on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Manor Care South, Williamsport. He was the husband of the late Marian I. (Turner) Murphy who had died on May 15, 2003 and had celebrated 63 years of marriage together. Ralph was born on August 22, 1916 in Cascade and was a son of the late Charles N. and Jennie (Weisel) Murphy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked and retired from Penn Dot as a grader operator. He was a member of the Wallis Run United Methodist Church, Trout Run Senior Citizens, Retired Public Employees of PA "subchapter #8603" and was one of the oldest members of the Plunketts Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker. Ralph is survived by one daughter; Barbara J. Mosier of Trout Run, four grandchildren; Michelle L. Lowmiller of Montoursville, Kimberly I. Simpson and Joe Murphy, both of Trout Run and Debra Eisworth of Virginia, seven great grandchildren; Nathan, Michael, Saundra, Samantha, Tessie, Tara and Tiffany and one sister; Harriet Lewis of Trout Run. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; Robert N. Murphy and one grandson; Jeremy Mosier. The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the Reverend Katherine Behrens officiating. There will be a public viewing 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ralph's memory can be made to the Plunketts Creek Vol. Fire Department, 327 Dunwoody Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
