YORK – Ralph Leon Lentz, 77, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Sandra E. (Orwick) Lentz to whom he was married for 50 years on July 3, 2021. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Pastor Sal Buonocore officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors presented by PA Army National Guard. The family requests that all attendees wear masks inside the Funeral Chapel. Ralph’s Tribute Service will be webcast on his obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com Born December 10, 1944 in West York, a son of the late Chauncey E. and Catharine A. (Newcomer) Lentz, he was a 1963 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. Mr. Lentz began his work career with Met-Ed and transitioned to a power plant operator for many years at York Haven Hydro until his retirement. Ralph was a member of Shiloh American Legion, Hawks Gunning Club, Thirteenth Ward Political Club, Rooster Club and the Twelfth Ward Independent Democratic Club. He served as Treasurer for York-Adams County Central Labor Council (AFL-CIO) and was an avid supporter of United Way. Ralph enjoyed watching NASCAR, as well as camping with his family. He also served in the PA Army National Guard, from which he retired after 23 years of service. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lentz is survived by three daughters, Kathlene M. Lentz of York, Jennifer L. and husband David Flagler, Jr. of Horsham, PA and Stacy E. and husband Jeremy Hilton of York; five grandchildren, Bayley, Scarlett, Evalyn, David, III and Jasper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Sue Lentz; four brothers, Clyde, Richard, Chester and Lester Lentz; and three sisters, Ruth Henise, Doris Emenheiser and Charlotte Joseph.
