DALLASTOWN - Ralph Emerson Eberly, Sr. 88, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late June D. (Martin) Eberly. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 West Main Street in Dallastown, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Eberly retired from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene after 26 years of service. He served as Director of Nursing Service and Nursing Division Chief. He was born in Dallastown on October 27, 1924, the son of the late Grover C. and Esther R. (Shirey) Eberly. Mr. Eberly was a member of Sacred Heart Alumni Association and the Red Lion Lodge # 649 F&AM. He served during WWII in the CBI and European Theatre. He was a graduate of William Penn High School and Frostburg University, Sacred Heart Hospital, with special advanced Training in Urology at Carney Hospital in Boston and advanced training in Psychiatry at Seton Institute in Baltimore. He also did modeling when he was younger. Mr. Eberly leaves two sons Gregory A. Eberly of York and Ralph E. Eberly, Jr. of Dover a daughter, Teresa M. Dilsner of Reisterstown, MD. He was preceded in death by a son, Geoffrey “Jeff” Eberly.
