YORK- Rachel (Zug) Good, 84, died on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Harold C. Good, who died on January 18, 1999. The couple wed on November 26, 1960. Born on July 16, 1932 in Mastersonville, she was a daughter of the late Elmer H. and Anna (Graybill) Zug. As a young adult, Rachel spent time in the Brethren Volunteer Service and before her marriage to Harold, she worked as a bank teller at Keystone Bank in Manheim. Mrs. Good was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren where she was a Deacon’s wife for 25 years, active in the Women’s Fellowship, and was a member of the Brethren Disaster Relief Auction Committee. She also was involved in the York County Farm Women’s Society. Her servant’s heart was evident in everything Rachel did, from preparing meals for shut-ins to volunteering at the York Rescue Mission Store in Dallastown. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and singing. Entertaining her friends and family brought her much joy. Mrs. Good is survived by seven children, Barbara A. Shaw and husband, William of Red Lion, Robert H. Good of Airville, Nancy J. Good of Washington D.C., Richard D. Good and wife, Cathy of Airville, Rodger D. Good and wife, Peggy of Brogue, Melody M. Wise and husband, Thomas of Red Lion, and Mary Rose Bodisch and husband Michael of Felton; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ronald Ludwick, nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by four children, David M. Good, John M. Good, Timothy A. Good and Peggy K. Ludwick; two sisters, Anna Mary Weaver and Mildred Gingrich. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA. Visitation and fellowship will follow at 6 p.m. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, C/O Building Fund, 10384 Winterstown Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
