Quentin D. Jones

YORK - Quentin D. "Mike" Jones, 82, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia V. (Young) Jones. A public funeral service will be held 2PM Friday, July 25, 2008 at Everhart-Jackson-Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born June 3, 1926 in York, the son of the late Charles and Fannie (Shaffer) Jones. He was a former employee of Caterpillar, Inc. until his retirement in 1981. He was a Navy veteran of WII. Mr. Jones was a member and Treasurer of York County Veteran's Honor Guard for several years. He enjoyed spending time outside doing yard work and riding his tractor. Mr. Jones is survived by two sons; Keith H. and wife Nancy Jones, and Jeffery C. and wife Beverly Jones, both of York; a daughter; Pamela S. Jones of Mt. Wolfe; five grandchildren; Beth, Paul, Matthew, Aaron and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Solomae all of York; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty J. (Jones) Thomas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County Veteran's Honor Guard, P.O. Box 712, Mt. Wolf, PA 17347.
