RED LION- Preston Elwood Saylor, Jr., 92, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his residence. Services for Mr. Saylor are private at the convenience of his family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Born on March 30, 1931, in Yoe, Preston was the eldest son of the late Preston Elwood and Ethel May (Crawford) Saylor, Sr. He was the husband of the late Betty Lee (Streett) Saylor, to whom he was married for 63 years until her passing.
Mr. Saylor served our country for two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a chain maker at the American Chain & Cable Co. until his retirement. Preston was a member of the Dallastown Legion Post 605. He loved boating, fishing, Ocean City (Maryland), reading Westerns and partying with his friends.
Mr. Saylor is survived by his daughter, Joyce M. Henry, and her husband, Fred, of York; three grandchildren, Lauren Henry of York, Marc Henry and his wife, Adrienne, of Lewisburg, and Andrea Henry of York; great granddaughter, Ivy Henry; and two brothers, Ted Saylor and Daryl Saylor and his wife, Jane. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory A. Saylor; and brother, Allan Saylor.
