WILLIAMSPORT - Phyllis M. (Beaver) Augustine, 78, died on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Williamsport Hospital. Phyllis was born on December 27, 1929 in Buffalo, New York and was a daughter of the late James and Edith (Hudson) Beaver. She was a graduate of the Williamsport Area High School in 1948. Phyllis was formerly employed as a secretary by the Red Cross, AVCO, District Attorneys office, and the Assistant Superintendent of the Williamsport Area School District. She belonged to several Women's Bowling Leagues and the F.O.P. "Women's Auxiliary." She was extremely artistic and came from a musically gifted family. Her talents span from quilting, sewing, crocheting, ceramics and craft making. She enjoyed long walks in Brandon Park, swimming, gardening, shopping, cooking, baking, watching Seinfeld and above all, singing, dancing and smiling. Her leisure pursuits included; reading, traveling and entertaining. Her true passion was her devotion to her family. Her un-wavering love and laughter was immeasurable. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was an inspiration to all that knew her, especially her daughter Milissa, with whom she shared her daily life and love with always. She was a member of the Christian Church of Cogan Station. Phyllis is survived by two sons; Ralph Augustine, III of Williamsport and John A. Augustine and his wife Karen of Williamsport, two daughters; Debora A. Augustine of Trout Run and Milissa M. Augustine of Williamsport, four grandchildren; Dana Augustine, Cody Augustine Alysha Augustine, all of Williamsport and Ralph Charles Augustine of Denver, CO, two sisters; Jean Bardo of Avis and Elizabeth DeBeauvior of Passadena, MD and her beloved dog, Hannah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; James T. Beaver and one sister; Gloria Warner. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with Pastor Larry Freed officiating. Burial will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorial contributions to Milissa Augustine at 146 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701 to plant a tree in her memory in her favorite park.
