DALLASTOWN- Phyllis L. (Sinclair) Streavig, 79, of York Township, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Pierce J. Streavig. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 26th. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Her pastor, The Reverend Roger Mentzer will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and 9-10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Streavig was born in Red Lion on August 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Melvin E. and Bessie (Ritz) Sinclair. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Streavig's: Food Market, Laundromat, Car Wash and Developing Company. Mrs. Streavig was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown where she was involved with the Thursday Morning Prayer Breakfast. She was a graduate of Red Lion High School and enjoyed picking strawberries at Brown's Orchard. Along with her husband, Mrs. Streavig leaves three sons: Gregory L. Streavig and Michael Streavig, both of Red Lion and Jeffery A. Streavig, Sr. of Dallastown; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Enos Sinclair of York; two sisters: Doris Kauffman of York and Deloris Wilson of Manchester; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main Street, Dallastown, PA 17313. Please add web info.
