Phillip E. Hevner, Jr.

HYNER - Philip E. Hevner Jr., age 73, passed away at Bucktail Medical Center on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011. He was born in North Bend on June 29, 1938, son of the late Philip E. Hevner Sr. and Maude Crossely Hevner. Phil attended Hyner United Methodist Church, worked as a laborer for Chapman Township, and formerly worked at Berwick, A.C.I., and ChemCon Co. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Western Clinton Co. Sportsman’s Assoc. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Doris a. (Stone) Hevner whom he married on April 8, 1960 in North Bend. They celebrated 51 years together on their last anniversary. Also surviving are his sons: Jerry (Cyndi) Hevner of N. Kingsville, Ohio and Paul (May) Hevner of Lexington Park, Maryland, and daughter: Doreen Hevner of Hyner. Phil had three grandchildren: Kimberly, Eric, and Nicholas and two great grandchildren: Tristain and Braylon, a brother: Richard (Alice) Hevner and a sister: Ruby Prebble, both of North Bend, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded by one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be held at The Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30th with Mrs. Martha Sykes officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hyner. Memorials are requested to the Hyner United Methodist Church, Rt.#120, Hyner, Pa. 17738.
