Troy, PA - Philip Rozelle Spencer, Age 87, of Troy, PA passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2009 with his family at his side at Robert Packer Hospital. He was born May 2, 1922 in Canton, PA son of the late Clarence N. and Jessie (Landon) Spencer and stepmother Maud (Phipps) Spencer. Philip was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Ermel (Williams) Spencer in August 1994. He was employed by King Rose Chevrolet in Mansfield, PA, Ralph's Ford in Mansfield, PA, McClure Motors in Troy, PA and owned Phil Spencer Auto Sales in Troy, PA. His was a member of the Troy First United Methodist Church, past member of the Troy Lions Club, Susquehanna Antique Car Club and the Towanda Chapter of Antique Automobiles of America. His hobbies included collecting and restoring antique cars. He received the Ford Sales 500 Club Award for many years and could remember the model, color and year of each car he sold and who the buyer was. Survivors include son, Marvin & Sherry Spencer of Canton, PA, a daughter, Janet & James Warren of Blossburg, PA, son Timothy & Rhonda Spencer of Tracy, CA, grandchildren, Kevin & Michelle Spencer of Hummelstown, PA, Keith & Heidi Spencer of Fairfax, VA, Lily Spencer and Mia Spencer of Tracy, CA, great-grandchildren, Troy, Madison, Brent, Clay and Jenna of Hummelstown, PA, Chloe, Rachael and Benjamin of Virginia. Philip is also survived by his loving companion of many years Violet Kasian and her family of Horseheads, NY, sisters, Margaret Mulford of Deltona, FL, Evie Lightfoote of Stanley, NY and Ellen Powell of Jersey Shore, PA, brothers, Stephen & Hildegard Spencer of State College, PA, Stanley & Carol Spencer of Slate Hill, NY, Wesley & Ann Spencer of Tunkhannock, PA, and several nieces nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral home, Inc. 110 W. Main St. Troy, PA. Philip's funeral will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Troy First United Methodist Church, 205 Redington Ave. Tory, PA with Rev. Rich Noggle and Rev. Jasper Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial are directed to the First United Methodist Church 205 Redington, Ave, Troy, PA 16947 or to a charity of one's choice in Philip's name.
