Philip M. Shenk, Jr.

DOVER- Philip M. Shenk, Jr., 50, died on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of Alice L. (Arter) Shenk. The couple had been married for 24 years. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Mountain Grove Chapel, 170 Andersontown Rd., Dover, PA 17315 with Pastor Osmany Espinosa officiating. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 12, 1965 in Hershey, he was a son of Philip M. and Gay Lee (Stare) Shenk, Sr. Philip was a Machinist for Norfolk Southern Railway. Mr. Shenk was a member of Mountain Grove Chapel and served on the board. He was an avid collector of all things. Philip enjoyed tinkering, cars, tractors, trains and motorcycles. Along with his wife, Alice, Philip is survived by two daughters, April Shenk and Amanda Shenk, both of Dover; one stepdaughter, Charolette Bixler and her husband, David of Lewisberry; two grandchildren, Corey and Zachary Bixler; two brothers, Peter Shenk and his wife, Joy of New Cumberland and Patrick Shenk and his wife, Kim of Marysville; three sisters, Paula Brooks and her husband, Lloyd of Harrisburg, Pam Michael and her husband, Ryan of Marysville and Polly Snyder and her husband, Jermy of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews.
