Philip Joseph Villarreal

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Philip Joseph Villarreal, 78, formerly of York, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Martha (Ladany) Villarreal. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Diane G. Wenthe officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Friday and 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born June 9, 1932 in San Antonio a son of the late Felipe and Ofelia (Gomez) Villarreal, he retired in 1993 from Corpus Christi Army Depot. Prior to that he had lived and worked in York at Fincor Automation Inc. and New Cumberland Army Depot for 20 years. Mr. Villarreal loved working on cars and motorcycles and enjoyed dancing. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Anthony P. and wife Lori Villarreal of Spring Grove, Michael J. and wife Jill Villarreal of York, and Phillip J. Villarreal of Perry Hall, MD; a daughter, Michelle J. and husband Glenn Ford of San Clemente, CA; a stepdaughter; six grandchildren, Austin and Alec Villarreal, Lance and Hunter Ford, and Krystina and Taylor Villarreal; step grandchildren; a brother, Rudolph and wife Denise Villarreal of San Antonio; two sisters, Ofelia Siordio of San Antonio and Elena and husband Richard Ortiz of San Antonio; a sister in law, Dolores Villarreal; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edmund Villarreal; and a brother in law, Rudy Siordio.
