YORK – Philip E. Shultz, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Rest Haven – York. He was the devoted husband of 54 years to the late Lorraine L. Shultz. A gathering of friends will be held from 2-3:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Born May 13, 1932 in East Berlin, a son of the late Ralph and Lola (Stine) Shultz, he was a 1950 graduate of West York High School. He retired from Keystone Weaving Mills after 46 years of dedicated service. Along with a partner, he also owned and operated the former Conewago Tree Farms in Dover for more than 50 years. Mr. Shultz was a loving grandfather, avid hunter, outdoorsman, farmer and history buff. He was a member of Shangri-La Hunting Camp in Potter County. Mr. Shultz leaves behind a legacy of unwavering generosity, compelling stories, a love for hunting & fishing, an unparalleled work ethic, a fascination with history and science, an everlasting love for family, a strong philosophy on values and morals, and a tender heart for animals and humanity. He is loved more than words can ever convey and will be eternally missed by his family and friends. He is survived by two sons, Wade P. Shultz and wife Ann Shultz and Chris E. Shultz and wife Deborah Shultz both of Dover; a granddaughter, Ashley E. Shultz of Harrisburg; a grandson, Matthew P. Shultz of Frederick, MD; a step grandson, Brandon M. Boyer of Williamson, PA; and three step great grandchildren, Brandon, Wyatt and Marlei Boyer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc., P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
