Peter S. Ross

Peter S. Ross, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Cherl A. (Duncker) Ross to whom he was married for four years. He was also the husband of the late Linda L. (Shultz) Ross. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Road, York with Rev. Rita Willis officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery with full military honors provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born February 11, 1943 in Shickshinny, Luzerne Co.; a son of the late Anthony and Eleanor J. (Evarts) Ross, he retired from York Tape & Label Co. in 2008 after 17 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at York Graphic Services for 28 years. Mr. Ross was a member of Spring Grove Boys Club, Spring Grove Athletic Assoc., Zion U.M. and enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross and York Rescue Mission. He was a veteran of the PA Army National Guard. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ross is survived by a son, Joshua P. and wife Jennifer Ross of Spring Grove; three daughters, Wendy S. and Jodie L. Ross both of York and Brittany S. Ross and husband Christopher Smith of Spring Grove; two stepsons, Timothy E. and wife Kate Roof and Thomas P. and wife Jennifer Roof both of Mt. Wolf; 14 grandchildren, Jordan and wife Sarah Brouillette, Leslie and husband Lonnie Petersheim, Alexis, Malik, and Raezelle Ingram, Brayden, Jacob, and Elias Ross, Landon and Lucas Baker, Cody, Hunter, Wyatt, and Sarah Roof; two brothers, Raymond Ross of Beech Haven, PA and James Ross of Berwick, PA; and a sister, Nancy Dietterick of Berwick. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Marcus Ingram; a sister, Edith Reichard; and a brother, Randall Ross. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, 724 S.
