Peggy P. Meckley

YORK- Peggy P. (Decker) Meckley, 88, of West Manchester Township, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Meckley.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St. in Hanover. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Peggy was born in Hanover on January 16, 1936, the daughter of the late Eugene F. Smith and Margaret Decker. She worked as a waitress at the former Spataro’s and the former Trail Lounge. She was known for being a feisty lady and standing up for her family.

Peggy leaves three sons, Tony Sterner and his wife Robin Reed of West Virginia, Steve Meckley of York, and Rick Meckley of York; five grandchildren, Collin, Sierra, Michael, Ben, and Mitch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1891 Santa Barbara Dr. Unit 201, Lancaster, PA 17601.
