Peggy E. (Troutman) Toomey

POTTSVILLE - Peggy E. Toomey, 76, of Pottsville, died Sunday at the Kennedy Hospital, Cherry Hill, NJ. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Peggy was born May 3, 1933, in Pottsville, the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Splane) Troutman. Peggy graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School. Peggy was also a graduate of the Saint Agnes School of Nursing, Philadelphia. She was a member of the Church of Saint Patrick. Until retiring in 1997 Peggy was a Registered Nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital, where she opened and was in-charge of the Recovery Room for 42 years. On January 23, 1960, she married the late James P. Toomey, who died September 17, 1981. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by a brother Fritzi Troutman. Surviving Peggy are: a daughter, Sharon and her husband Kevin Kotch, of Cherry Hill, NJ; a son Kevin Toomey, of Jim Thorpe; two granddaughters, Julianne Margaret Kotch and Caroline Bridget Kotch; a brother Craig and his wife Bridget Troutman; a niece Erin Murhon and four nephews, Michael, David, Patrick and Sean Troutman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM from the Church of Saint Patrick, 4th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, on Thursday from 6-8 PM and Friday morning from 9:15 - 10:15. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
