Pearl Lucille Shifflett (Nanny) went to join her beloved Clarence on January 20, 2020. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her son’s home in Fairfield, Maine. She is the widow of the late CW Shifflett (Pop). Lucy, as she like to be called, was originally from Charlottesville, Virginia. Lucy was born on January 3, 1933 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Goldie Cash. She grew up and went to school in Charlottesville. This is where she met her life-long companion and the love of her life, Clarence. Lucy and Clarence were married on September 30, 1950. They were married for 62 years. She remained in Charlottesville and began her family. During the years, she resided in Etters, Pennsylvania, Pinebush, New York, and Fairfield, Maine. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and she loved spending the winters in Florida. Lucy worked at Cumberland County National Bank (CCNB) with her dear friend Dani Rorapaugh. She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer (Hanky) Cash, and four sisters Marylee Brooks, Margaret Herring, Shirley Hise, Ruth Gladwell. She had seven children Becky Sapp, Joyce Schrade, Clarence Shifflett Jr., Wanda Kintzel, Judith Rogers, Lisa Bazemore, and one daughter Shelby Shifflett (deceased). She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. We would like to have a special thank you go out to Maine General Hospice Care who helped take care of Nanny in her final days. We would also like to thank Delmar and Janet Davis for all the extra visits to Florida to visit Nanny, They always could make Nanny smile. There will be a graveside service to be held Friday, August 14, 2020, at 2 PM at Paddletown Cemetery in Etters. Beaver-Urich funeral Home, 305 West Front Street in Lewisberry will be assisting with the arrangements. We would like to ask any that attend the graveside service to abide by the CDC rules and restrictions for Covid-19, such as masks and social distancing. Rest in peace, our dear, sweet Nanny Boo-Boo. You will always be our Queen Bee!
