YORK- Pauline (Reng) Turek, 96, formerly of Harrisburg and Millers Island, Baltimore, County, MD, died Saturday August 18, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital in York. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Turek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, in York. Her pastor, The Reverend Thomas R. Hoke will be officiating at the service. Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be private at St. Francis Cemetery in Nanicoke, PA. Mrs. Turek was born in Shickshinny, Luzerne County on August 18, 1911, a daughter of the late George W. and Mary H. (Brown) Reng. She started her career as a teacher for Shickshinny High School and later retired as a Management Assistant for the State of Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in York, a graduate of Bloomsburg University and a member of Molly Pitcher Button Club, where she was an avid button collector. Mrs. Turek leaves two sons: George J. Turek of Fayetteville, PA and Paul J. Turek, Jr. of York, a daughter, Margaret Ann Zackon of Reading, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Two sisters had preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, York, PA 17401.
