Pauline E. (Wagman) Herbst

YORK - Pauline E. (Wagman) Herbst, 90, died on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late Herbert H. Herbst, who died in April of 2008. The couple wed on June 30, 1949. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with her pastor, the Reverend Roger Mentzer officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Born on May 6, 1923 in Dallastown, she was a daughter of the late Alvise and Margaret (Ryer) Wagman. Pauline worked for the Federal Cigar Factory from 1940 to 1958 and later was the secretary and treasurer for Herbert H. Herbst, Inc. Mrs. Herbst was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown and was a former Sunday school teacher. Pauline was a member of White Rose Squares, the Red Hat Society, Ladies Auxiliary of Pleasureville Legion Post #799 and helped out with the York County Builders Association. Mrs. Herbst is survived by one daughter, Lindy L. Holzer and her husband, Brian C. of Wrightsville; two grandchildren, Douglas Holzer and his wife, Amie of Dallastown and Danielle Savary and her husband, Eric of Jacksonville, N.C.; and three great grandchildren, Landin, Adelyn and Dominic.
