Paulette E. (Timko) Smith

Hallem—Paulette E. (Timko) Smith, 60, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at her residence in Hellam Township. She was the wife of David B. Smith to whom she was married for 22 years. A celebration of life service will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born July 21, 1947 in Lackawanna County, a daughter of the late Paul and Florence (Trusky) Timko. She graduated from Scranton School of Nursing in 1968 and earned a Bachelors degree in English from the University of Baltimore, where she was a member of the Wilson Honor Society-Phi Beta Kappa Her career as a Registered Nurse spanned three decades. Over the years she was employed with Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, St. Joseph Hospital in Towson, 13 years with Home Health Care in York, where she was also Staff Development Nurse and most recently with Colonial Manor Nursing Home as Staff Development Director for 2 years. She loved traveling throughout the islands of the Caribbean, cooking and her two dogs, "Little Guy and "Callie", and flamingos. Formerly, she sat on the board of Directors for the White Rose Senior Center and Prime of Life. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is also survived by one sister, Cathy Seney of Carbondale and nieces and nephews.
