Felton - The gentle soul of Paul Y. Stitely, age 83, passed away at his home on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born in East Hopewell Township (Felton) on July 26, 1938 to the late Ralph C. Stitely Sr. and Urcelia (Celia) E. Miller Stitely. Paul graduated in 1956 from Kennard Dale High School. A life-long farmer, loving father and grandfather, he was employed by The Miller and Stitely Feed Mill in Cross Roads. Paul was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church. Paul cared deeply for his daughter, granddaughters and son-in-law. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and his garden, especially growing sweet corn and traveling to the mountains in Tioga County. Over the years, Paul cared deeply for his cats. He will be loved and missed by many. Mr. Stitely served our country for two years in the U. S. Army and trained at Fort Riley in Kansas. Paul is survived by his loving daughter, Jill Godfrey (Jay), of Felton; his granddaughters, Joelle Godfrey-Neff (Zachary) of Red Lion and Jayla Godfrey of Felton; and brother Ralph “Bud” Stitely, Jr. of Swansea, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers R. Dean Stitely and Donald Stitely; and sisters Leona Miller and Dorcas Taylor. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
