Paul W. Berkheimer

NEW COLUMBIA - Paul W. Berkheimer, 86, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, PA. Paul was born on April 30, 1924 in McEwensville and was the son of the late Harvey and Maggie (McKean) Berkheimer. He was married to the former V. Jean (Showers) who had died on June 15, 1968. Paul was a dairy farmer and then worked and retired from American Home Foods. He was a member of the Moose, was one of the founders of the Showers Road Gun Club and enjoyed traveling. Paul is survived by 2 daughters and one son-in-law; Peggy and James Leininger of Watsontown and Susan Berkheimer of New Columbia, two grandsons; Broc Troxell and Wyatt Troxell and his wife Jennifer, all of New Columbia, one great-grandson; Taylor Troxell of New Columbia, two brothers; Harry Berkheimer of Maryland and Doren Berkheimer of Milton, one sister; Betty Starr of Danville and longtime companion; Marvene Moore of Milton. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson; James, five brothers; Frank, Harvey, Harold, Dean and Earl and three sisters; Helen Travitz, Ruth Berkheimer and Mary Berkheimer. There will be a public viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia. The Reverend James R. Bond will officiate the services and will be assisted by Pastor Bud Rutherford.
